Samsung set to unveil its new flagship handset the much anticipated Galaxy S5 smartphone on February 24th!
The firm has sent journalists invites to a ‘Samsung Unpacked 5’ event at the Mobile World congress show in Barcelona where it is expected to reveal the Galaxy S5 and a new version of its Gear watch.
The S5 is widely expected to feature a bigger screen, at 5.25inch than its predecessor the S4, and will also have a new superfast Snapdragon processor which will give the handset a major speed boost.
It is also rumoured to sport an improved rear camera with 16 megapixels compared to the 13MP of the S4, biometric functions such as iris recognition or a fingerprint scanner and run KitKat, the latest version of Google’s Android software.
In a move identical to Apple’s decision to launch a plastic iPhone 5C alongside its flagship 5S model last year it is claimed that the Samsung 5S will also come in both metal and plastic versions, with the metal version costing around £660 (800 EUR) and the plastic model coming in at around £540 (650 EUR).
After its rumoured unveiling during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. They will likely then go on sale in Korea in March, before being rolled out for sale worldwide in April.
